Biodiversity on Hill Farms Workshop Tuesday 25 July 2017, 10am to 3pm, SRUC Kirkton and Auchtertyre Farms, Crianlarich

What can be done to enhance biodiversity on hill farms?

This workshop will highlight a range of biodiversity priorities within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and explore the types of management that can be incorporated into hill farms to maintain or enhance biodiversity on areas of the farm such as peatlands, moorlands, woodlands, wetlands and at the sides of rivers and burns. Please come ready to discuss what biodiversity management you may alread be doing on your hill farm, what else you may be interested in doing and what might be constraining you from doing more biodiversity management on your farm.

The workshop is particularly relevant to hill farmers and their advisors and will involve specialists from Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, SRUC's Hill & Mountain Research Centre and SAC Consulting discussing and sharing their experiences with workshop attendees. The workshop will also incorporate a visit to SRUC’s Kirkton & Auchtertyre Farms to see and discuss some of the biodiversity measures that have been implemented on the farms. Organisation of this event was supported by Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and the Scottish Government's RESAS 2016-21 Strategic Research Programme.

A complimentary lunch will be provided so booking in advance is essential.
